We were docked close to the main shopping area and wandered around as usual. We have been here a couple of times but not for 10 years – amazing to see how it has changed. In order to get out of the cruise terminal you have to pass by a phalanx of stallholders all wanting you to have a look.

Our ship’s capacity is 450 passengers. We were dwarfed by Celebrity Ascent docked alongside – 3,260 passengers.

In the evening we were treated to an exclusive event – a classical concert in the odeon theatre in the ruins of Ephesus. An amazing experience.
