Gala Night

Our cruise starts a day before with a Gala Night at Castel de Sant Marsal

Castel de Sant Marçal is a castle that was built in the 11th century and is now used as a function venue.

Scrub up well!!

Before dinner we had drinks and tapas along with some entertainment from a band. The tapas were excellent – sardines, calamari prosciutto/iberian ham and a potato delicacy that I can’t recall its name.

The dinner was very pleasant with assigned seating. We had a very convivial group and easy conversation.

The dinner started with a soup of langoustine cream and mushrooms then 24 hour slow cooked lamb and finished with a chocolate mouse encased in chocolate.

Desert!

At the end of the meal we had a group of guitarists play for us and then they were joined by two flamenco dancers with castanets who put on a great show.

What a fantastic start to our Grand European Voyage!
