We arrived at the Cape Grace hotel in Cape Town 24 hours after leaving our apartment in Canberra. The hotel, which is in the V&A Waterfront area, is amazing – location, service and accommodation. As it was 9pm we felt no guilt in having a shower and going to bed straight away.
The next morning we were able to see how magnificent the surroundings were.
It was amazing watching the mist swirling on table mountain. Click to view
We took a day tour doing scenic driving to the Cape of Good Hope.
The scenery is amazing and we saw various wildlife too. We didn’t spend too much time out of the car as it was extremely windy.
We visited Boulders Beach where there is a colony of about 3,000 African Penguins.

We stopped for lunch at the Harbour House restaurant in Kalk Bay. The restaurant is right on the waters edge and you look down on the waves crashing on the rocks.
The food was excellent and not overly expensive. There were lots of seals around the pier as fishermen clean their fish there and the seals know that food is always close by.
By around 7pm we couldn’t stay awake any longer so we set the alarm for 11.15pm and went to bed. We got up just before midnight to see the fireworks – we had an amazing view from one of the hotel balconies.

Looks as though you are enjoying everything by golly you needed a break. Continue to enjoy- happy new year
