Cape Town and Stellenbosch

Winery Tour

We did a day tour to the Stellenbosch wine area which is about a 45 minute drive.  We stopped at two wineries before lunch and then two after.

The first winery was Starke-Conde

The last winery of the day was Ken Forrester where we tried the Chenin Blanc.

Cape Grace Hotel

Our hotel is in the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and the area is bustling with activity.  The hotel has Christmas decorations everywhere and in the lift foyers on each floor is a supply of Christmas cake which makes waiting for a lift very pleasurable.  The hotel has an extensive whisky cellar where we had a whisky tasting and learnt a lot about the taste of peat smoke in whisky!
